We need money to exist and function in our current economy.
Many nonprofits struggle with funding. They have to spend a lot of time writing grants and asking donors for money. This is a lot of time and money used that could be used to enhance the mandate they are in business to solve (reduce poverty, increase health etc)
We do not want to have this constant headache of not knowing if we have enough funding or the strings attached to that funding. We need a model that supplies a constant and predictable stream of incoming money so that we can get on with the work of creating projects that improve lives.
Our members will pay $10 per month. These funds will be pooled. After overhead costs members will vote on which projects to fund with our money. They can also offer advice on how to keep our costs low as we offer full transparency.
What do members get for their $10 a month?
Full voting member with access to all the democracy and transparency that our current level of technology allows.
Hope for a better world that is actually obtainable and get to participate in creating it (tell your grand-kids you DID help save humanity and the earth)
The joy of working with people they jive with doing work that is meaningful to them
Tools to accomplish the above
Access to all of the projects (apps, websites, systems) that we cocreated together.
In the beginning we are only offering the first two and a bit of the third while growing the capacity for collaboration through technology. I do not want people putting in $10 per month when they are not getting all the benefits right away. As we grow we will create more projects bringing more and more value to our members.
For the first couple of projects members will instead be contributing $25 per project, via a crowfunding campaign this will give them full voting share for that project and they will vote on which project they most want us to create NOW (all will be created eventually)
We will be keeping them in the loop and offering collaboration to the best of our current ability.
We will be transparent with where the money comes from (number of members) and where it is being spent. We will be open to suggestions on how to better utilize our funds so we can create the most purpose for our members with the least amount of resources.
We fund it together so that there is little risk to anyone party and major rewards to all our members and the world as a whole.
